Verona

I LOVED Verona! It was a great city. Unfortunately we didn't spend nearly enough time there. We left Torino on Wednesday morning and pulled into Verona around 12:30. Our first stop in the town was Castelvecchio. This is a medieval castel that has been turned into a museum and designed by the architect, Carlo Scarpa.

The large piazza in town, Piazza Bra, with the Roman ampitheater:

And, of course, no stop in Verona is complete without a visit to Juliet's House (as in Romeo and Juliet, which took place in Fair Verona, where we lay our scene):

You could get your picture taken on the balcony but you have to pay admission to go into the house, and we just didn't have enough time :-(

Here is Piazza delle Erbe:

The shopping was amazing in Verona also. We had to get back on the bus at 6:00 to get to Vicenza, where we were staying for the night so we only got to spend around 5 hours here. It was a very nice stop on our Northern tour.
