Urbino
Day 4 of our tour of the hill towns was spent in Urbino. It was a very cold, gray day and the streets of Urbino were very steep so it seemed that we were more in a mountain town than a hill town. Urbino is actually in the Le Marche region of Italy and seemed very isolated. It was nice for a day's stay.
Some views of the town:
After a morning of walking around the town and checking out the sights, we spent the afternoon at the Palazzo Ducale which is also a museum, the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche:
What's funny about this museum is that it seemed that the only subject they featured in their paintings was the Renaissance subject of "Madonna with Child" and Oliver kept saying "baby baby" whenever he spotted the baby Jesus - which was throughout the entire museum.
