We left Siena early on day 3 of our tour of the hill towns and headed for the abandoned Abbey os San Galgano. This medieval abbey was originally built between 1182 and 1185. It became abandoned years later for political reasons and was left to ruin with part of it collapsing taking the roof as well.
From there we went to Arezzo, which was a very quiet town in Tuscany, probably due to the fact that we were there during siesta hours. There was not much going on but quite a few things to see. Its latest claim to fame is that the film "Life is Beautiful" was filmed here.
